Aya Healthcare was founded in 2002 with only four members. Since then, they have grown into a global platform with nearly 200 branches across the US providing high-end healthcare solutions. Below we detail the most interesting facts about our company so far.

1. What does insurance cover?
Aya Healthcare offers medical coverage in all 50 states through Medicare, Medicaid, self-funded employers, individuals and families, and more. There is no deductible with this type of policy.
2. How would you describe yourself as a customer?
I am currently employed as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) for both a private practice clinic located in Miami Beach, FL and an outpatient surgery facility located in Naples, FL. My responsibilities include managing patients, scheduling appointments, taking medications, performing surgeries and overseeing important things throughout the day. I love working there because my patients always come first. As mentioned, I enjoy listening to them while maintaining social relationships with colleagues and clients. It is my goal to continue pursuing higher education to further develop these skills.
3. Do you take sick days?
No, sick time is taken during normal business hours excluding holidays. However, if you need to take time off, your schedule must be approved by management. Please note that illness will not necessarily affect your work performance as we have done this for many years.
4. You can choose your own physician?
Yes, Aya Healthcare allows our staff members to select a primary care provider to maintain patient satisfaction and continuity of care. Each NP has the freedom to manage their individual patient needs.
5. Where did you learn about us?
I learned about Aya Healthcare through friends who were looking for cheap vacation rentals for their family. When choosing our location, we wanted to use someone who knew the area well, preferably someone who had worked in the local community. After researching reputable agencies online, we chose our home base of Ocala, Florida where we can see for ourselves how well our team works locally.
6. Does your workplace have any policies?
Yes, depending on whether you have health care coverage. Although policies vary by region, you’ll find that your plan covers hospitalizations, emergency room visits, doctor’s appointments, and everything else when you go to the office. Also, there are discounts available if you visit multiple providers within a month. Additionally, whether the health care offers reimbursement when needed.
7. Do you feel comfortable coming to work?
I feel comfortable coming to work every day because I always have control over my environment, no matter what happens outside of work. This helps me stay focused and avoid distractions, which can result in not being able to focus on my tasks during breaks. Also, I am motivated every day, and sometimes get creative to accomplish personal goals.
8. Can you tell us anything about your culture?
We believe that everyone should have the right to live their best life. We promote diversity and inclusion by hiring diverse candidates, celebrating individual successes during challenging times, and encouraging learning about different cultures. Culture is something that comes naturally as part of our workforce. Whether it’s meeting new people or learning about a country, you don’t really need to know about it. This is more than enough for those who want to open doors.
9. Have you ever had to deal with discrimination in your career?
No, although certain situations arise. A situation arose between us and our employer where after we left our offices, he called us names and threatened to sue us. Because of this, we decided to remove it from our database. This not only helped to resolve the issue but also instilled in us the confidence that we could handle legal matters without fear of reprisals.
10. How long have you been with Aya Healthcare?
We started working again in 2002. After nearly 30 years of working together, we have decided to retire. We have maintained contact through November 2021, and it was during our retirement to decide whether it was in our best interest to continue working with Healthcare. During our retirement, we made three major moves. First, we removed two associates from management roles as well as retired our Chief Operating Officer. Subsequently, we added a Director of Operations for North America and relocated in 2018. Eventually, we retired most of our senior leadership and shifted to coaching new hires. Over the next few months, I spent much of my free time preparing myself and reviewing my internal operations to determine the need for this transition. Unfortunately, COVID-19 put the process on hold for 18 months.
